Before you Join, you should bear some facts in mind:

• The Scottish Atheist Council is party politically neutral
  

Whilst members of Political Parties are welcome (and indeed, encouraged) to join, the Scottish Atheist Council is not affiliated with any party.

We expect our members to respect other's political views and not argue about party political matters.

• Membership is only open to Atheists
  

It is our opinion that The Scottish Atheist Council, as a membership based organisation campaigning on the issue of the harm religion causes in society, has a "genuine occupational requirement" to discriminate on the basis of religion.

It's worth pointing out, of course, that the religious groups active within Scotland have no qualms about discriminating on the basis of religion, gender and sexuality!

• "Can't We all Just Get Along?"
  

If you think that we should not attack religions, if you think that everyone should just tolerate religious viewpoints, no matter what... please don't waste your time, and ours. This is an argument which has been used over and over again - we reject it completely.

Religion is wrong. It's time to do something about it, not tolerate it.
